Horseshoe Casino

Baltimore, Maryland

B&R served as the Energy Efficiency consultant for the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, Maryland. The new 340,000 SF urban two-story casino is the second largest casino in Maryland with a 122,000 SF gaming floor and also boasts video lottery terminals, table games, three premier restaurants, several bars and lounges, a World Series of Poker room and a 1,500,000 SF parking deck. B&R assisted in the selection of sustainable MEP systems, coordinated with the local utility company to acquire energy efficiency incentives and worked with equipment vendors and contractors to obtain the most competitive pricing. After permitting a financial feasibility analysis for energy conservation, B&R recommended and implemented a 1.2 MWatt combined heat and power (CHP) facility, which preapproved for $550,000 in lighting and HVAC rebates and $1,200,000 in CHP incentives.
