B&R Engineering Services is pleased to have worked with Chambers USA on the renovation of Cosmos Club on Massachusetts Avenue in Washington D.C. B&R Engineering worked on the complete renovation of the commercial kitchen which servers all club members. This included: the addition of a grease interceptor, a new variable volume make up air and exhaust system, new split AC system, and lights power and gas distribution. We also worked with The Lighting Practice of Philadelphia to develop lighting layout and control plans for the club’s main dining areas.

The Cosmos Club, incorporated in 1878, is a private social club for women and men distinguished in science, literature, the arts or public service. Cosmos Club members have included three U.S. presidents, two U.S. vice presidents, a dozen Supreme Court justices, 36 Nobel Prize winners, 61 Pulitzer Prize winners, and 55 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Club is noted for its camaraderie and atmosphere of warmth, dignity, and elegance. Members who enter the Clubhouse in search of congeniality or intellectual stimulation find both in full measure.
