Tuesday, Jul 18, 2017

Conveniently located in the Baltimore/Washington corridor off Route 29 in Columbia, Maryland, Merriweather Post Pavilion is nestled within the 40 preserved acres known as Symphony Woods. The natural, outdoor concert setting is one that simply can’t be matched. For more than 40 years, Merriweather has hosted a diverse range of artists and events, offering the area’s absolute best in contemporary entertainment.

The project includes new concession buildings, new box offices, new restroom buildings along with renovation and upgrades to the main stage and orchestra seating area. The project will also include a new two story production building behind the stage area to house performer dressing rooms, concert production facilities, offices, kitchen, pool and cafeteria area for the performers and stage crews. B&R Engineering Services is providing dry utility and MEP engineering design services for the project as well as commissioning for phase two of the project. The dry utility design will provide new main electric service distribution around the concert facility and property, with new transformers and connections to the various buildings. The design also includes new central gas service and meter for the property with private distribution to each building. B&R is also providing design to interconnect each building for telephone and fiber service between buildings for the Merriweather low voltage systems.
